For our masterplan design for a city block in East Baltimore, we proposed building rowhouses to shape a town square envisioned to be an intimate public space owned and shared by the community. Learning from how the rowhouse typology developed in Europe, our approach stems on the idea that there is plenty of housing stock in Baltimore, but not enough housing stock in close proximity to public space.
